Spring has Sprung for Youth Soccer

Spring Break for Jupiter soccer players was spent enjoying beautiful weather and great training at Jupiter Community Park. The trainers of Coerver Coaching Southeast USA spent three days with age groups from four and half to fifteen. Each group was evaluated based on the Pyramid of Training that is the foundation of the Coerver Coaching method. Training over the three days focused on the player development appropriate for each child in an environment that was fun and rewarding.

Spring Break graduates were awarded the Official Completion Certificate and Sting Spring Break T-shirt at the close of the camp.

Coerver Camps are available this summer throughout the Southeast.

The Inaugural Coerver Cup Tournament
March 13 - 15, 2009

The 2009 Coerver Cup is a non restricted tournament.
It is open to all US Club Soccer Member Clubs,
USYSA and or State affiliated teams and clubs that are in good standing.
Participants shall consist of boys and girls teams from U9 to U19.

Tournament to be held at Halpatiokee Regional Park.

Coerver Coaching Staff Adds Stuff to Sting

JTAA Soccer AllStars Academy launched this winter in Jupiter Florida under the direction of both the Competitive and Recreational volunteer staff. The program offers soccer training during this season to the residents and neighbors of the Jupiter and Tequesta municipalities as well as an end of season tournament. JTAA Soccer AllStars Academy combines the welcome attitude of recreational sports with the skills development training of competitive soccer. There were no tryouts but the kids were evaluated to benchmark their skills development and establish goals.

Coerver Coaching joined up with the Jupiter Sting back in September flying in Fraser Foster as their lead boys trainers, helping the BU15 to bring it on as well as the U10, U11 and U12 teams. The results are evident, Coerver has made a difference in the attiude of the club not just in the winning of games but in the reason for playing soccer. The addition of 8 new AllStars teams to the Coerver method will surely have an impact on both programs in the future. We expect the demand for this program to grow.

Next year, or a few weeks from now, Fraser Foster of Coerver Southeast USA will be sitting down with the volunteer staff at Jupiter Sting to add another layer of training and coaching to this dynamic bunch. What we anticipate is bringing the culture of soccer in Jupiter to the next level. Recreational soccer parents bring a lot of enthusiasm to the coaching touchline but that doesn't always translate well into good coaching practices. We are all here to learn, aren't we?

JTAA Jupiter Sting and Coerver Coaching hitting it off in their first season together

The BU-15 Jupiter Sting are pictured running a Coerver drill instructed by newly added trainer Fraser Foster.

The Jupiter Sting Soccer Club has operated as a youth soccer program under the JTAA umbrella for decades and is flourishing under the tutelage of such trainers as Fraser.

Other teams training with Coerver are the BU-10, BU-11 and BU-12.

Recreational soccer is also benefiting from the expertise of this English bred futbol training team.

Recreational soccer ends the weekend before Thanksgiving and then soccer in Jupiter transitions into Academy play giving soccer enthusiasts a place to play after rec is over. All start teams will compete on the weekends with local clubs and Jupiter team alike.

We are looking forward to growing a great soccer program in Jupiter that meets the needs of all levels of player.

Fraser Foster joins Coerver Southeast USA!

Welcome Fraser and family!

Having started his coaching career at the age of 18 whilst then a player at Rotherham United FC, Fraser Foster went on to become one of the youngest coaches to obtain the FA Advanced Coaching License at just 19 years of age.
During his 6 years as Community Officer at Rotherham United FC after finishing playing, Fraser became an FA Coach Educator helping coaches to develop within the game from all levels. A further two years were spent at Rotherham United FC in the role of Youth Development Officer, overseeing the Centre of Excellence and in addition working with both the reserve and first team on a daily basis.
Fraser then moved to work as Community Officer at Barnsley FC alongside working with their Academy teams. Fraser worked for 3 years developing the grass roots program at Barnsley FC before becoming a PFA Regional Director, overseeing 21 Professional Clubs Community Schemes across the Midlands in the UK.
It was here that Fraser was recognized by West Bromwich Albion FC, where he was recruited as Community Director. Over the past three years Fraser has developed and now heads up a department that employs 27 full time staff and 35 part time staff including, coaches, development officers and teachers.
West Bromwich Albion FC this year have secured promotion to the FA Premier League following finishing as Champions of the English Championship.
Fraser has been recruited to the Treasure Coast by Paul Gibbons, to work as the Director of Soccer in the Community for Coerver Southeast USA. Their connection was made 3 years ago when “Gibbo” invited coaches from West Bromwich Albion out to the Treasure coast. Gibbo was a coach at the ‘Baggies’ School of Excellence in 1985 – 1992 before he moved to the USA. There he started and ran a satellite feeder School of Excellence as well as being Head Coach of the U17 team. Fraser will be working closely with “Gibbo” to develop a wider audience of players, clubs and communities across the southeast of Florida and beyond. Fraser has moved to Palm City with his wife, Amanda and two children, Finley and Madeleine.

I'd like to thank everyone for coming out on Sunday, players, parents and coaches. It was a beautiful afternoon and Paul Gibbons did a dynamite job and we're very fortunate that he took the time out of his busy schedule to be with us. He's off to India in May to start the Coerver Coaching program in that country and he's got a follow-up trip to Costa Rica planned to work with the Boys Under 17 National team. He'll be back at the end of June to the Chain of Lakes to conduct our TSC in-house summer camp, which will take place from June 23-27.
We had 36 players for the demonstrations and I'd like to thank the coaches who brought them out. We also had over 40 coaches in attendance, including five National Youth Licensees and we had guests who came from as far away as Clay County in Jacksonville, several from Orlando and a coach from Vero Beach.
It really was a splendid afternoon and we look forward to "Gibbo" returning.

As you know I am planning on taking several HS players of both genders to the Nike Norcross Showcase in Atlanta over the week end of December 6th and 7th.
Last year there were 110 + college coaches there!!!!
I would like your cooperation in scheduling.
We would need to leave on Friday 5th December and get back late Sunday night.

Hope fully this will all work out for everybody.
You guys will be the part of something new in this area - Club coaches and HS coaches working together for the kids!
I will make it known that we are all in this together!
(Orange Classic and Tampa Sun Bowl will be part of the planning too)

Cromwell Ready to Join U.S. Women's Soccer Under-20 Coaching Staff

5/8/2008 - UCF women's soccer head coach Amanda Cromwell recently traveled to California for the U.S. Soccer Under-20 Training Camp in April, and she again will hit the road May 12-27 as a member of the coaching staff. Cromwell now rejoins the team in Clemson, S.C., for a two-week training session as the program hopes to advance to the 2008 FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup in Chile

International Soccer Dream Comes True!

When an opportunity arises to help kids and it centers around soccer, you know it's going to be a great experience. After many conversations and several attempts the plans were in place for the Coerver Coaching Southeast team to travel to India to teach at schools and host a camp for boys and girls in New Dehli. Paul Gibbons, Gibbo to most, and his son arrived in India to find a culture that surprised and delighted at the same time a contrast to the contemporary setting of the United States and United Kingdom where each hales from. Gibbo has been involved in the coaching of young soccer players for over 2 decades and was overwhelmed by the reception by both the hosting institute as well as the participating young athletes.

The schedule included several sessions at schools in the city and a camp help at a private community. Throughout the city were women dressed in the traditional attire, the sari, the most notable aspect of this being the activities they might be engaged in. A lot of the construction and basic manufacturing jobs are preformed by these women; the sari's bright colors in contrast to the dust and drabness of the zones. The patch of green space we trained on what a haven in the arid climate. Soccer was the number one priority so we did spend most of our time working with the excited kids.

Our accomodations were typical for abassadors like ourselves, an Indian Institute, were academics, scientists, and soccer professionals are welcome for the diversity. Most were there to lecture indoors, we were there for quite the opposite. The weather was consistently fair giving us the time to fulfill our mission without weather delays. Over the two weeks we worked with one hundred and fifty kids. Imparting our coaching wisdom to the eager coaching staff was all part of the plan, a part that Coerver Coaching has been developing and promoting since its inception.

You must be able to duplicate the coaching and training system in order to help it grow. The sportsmanship that results from a movement like this will be tremendous. Coerver Coaching and Paul Gibbons continue to expand the Coerver method, one country at a time.
